Lay It Down Records is more than a group or label, it's a team!!!CEOs of the company Dirt Dig and Dizzy, raised off the streets of San Antonio, Texas, knew they had to better their lives. In the early summer of 2003 Lay It Down Records was formed and registered.They knew it would take a lot of hard work and dedication to make it to the top. The back bone to the whole operation is the artists Lady Peaches, Da Yungsta, Killa Ta (Young Dawg, CEO).With Dirt Dig's skills, the swagger that Lady Peaches brings, the lyrical content from Killa Ta, & the energy from Da Youngsta, they make jaws drop.In 2003, Lay it Down Records released it's first album entitled the, "Let Us Shine" Album. This album was recorded using a home recording studio. It was used primarily for promotional use within the city, and to showcase the skills that Lay it Down Records has to offer.The following year, 2004, the Top Flight Mixtape was released. This album went with the flow of Texas' Slowed and Chopped scene. Mixed by DJ Blurray, it consisted of songs by Lay it Down Records, as well as various artists.Due to some unfortunate life situations, Lay it Down Records was put on hold for two years. In 2006, the local San Antonio Hip Hop scene seemed to gain more support from local bars and clubs, by letting artists perfom on certain nights. Lay it Down Records has performed over 50 shows in the last year within the city and surrounding areas.Lay it Down Records has gained popularity using their performances, word of mouth, and Myspace.com. With songs such as "Straight to da Bar" and "I'm Smokin' On" receiving over 100 plays daily, the fan base continues to grow.Grind Hard The MixTape is currently on the streets and is one of the hottest mixtape out of San Antonio!!Gangsta Performed Live
