Biography DJ GoldfingersThe name is no accident. The man with the golden fingers is a miracle-worker on the turntables. Like many of his generation, Goldfingers was first introduced to Hip Hop as a child listening to Dee Nasty on Radio Nova playing all the latest sounds straight out from New York. Goldfingers was instantly seduced. As an adolescent, his interest in the hip hop world grew to include not just the turntables, but also dance, graffiti etc. He learned to mix with his friend Xavier, a dancer with the legendary group, ‘Aktuel Force’. Over the years, as Goldfingers became more and more involved in the hip hop scene, his style become more defined and his determination, solid. His dreams were soon to become reality, when, during the festival at the University of Saint Denis in 1993, he met the young and upcoming rapper, Busta Flex. The respect was mutual and the two quickly became inseparable. “We met each other in the early days, progressed together and we’re now the opening act for NTM”. Goldfingers became Busta Flex’s main DJ, scratching all of Flex’s first singles and on his album, for which he also does the outro. Most importantly, he toured constantly with the rapper and was an indispensable part of the live shows.Goldfingers comes to life on stage and the public feel his passion. He soon become known for his amazing live performances. What’s his secret? - An infallible technique, astonishing sequences and a real sense of partying. Even in London, where he accompanied Busta Flex at the carnival of Notting Hill, the young DJ created a stir with his talent and mastery. His skills are undeniable.Goldfingers mixed the R’n’B side of “Mowtown New Flavas”, on which features his own first composition. Following the huge success of the compilation, Goldfingers launched a nation-wide tour to widespread acclaim. Barely back from touring, Goldfingers then takes off for the 93 Party tour and the famous NTM TOUR 1998. It is here that he meets Busta Flex, Zoxea, Lord Kossity, Sully Sefil, Kool Shen, Joey Starr for an unforgettable musical experience. “It was unbelievable - A concert and party that lasted all night long. The crowd were great and the DJs were really put to the forefront”.Aside from playing live and hosting various PARTY since 1998, Goldfingers has been devoting more and more time to composing new music, often co-writing with friend, Lord Chamy ( the workaholics productions). His compositions have been interpreted by such artists as Dadoo, Sniper, Sully Sefil, Disiz la Peste, Mafia K’1Fry, Neil, Kool Shen etc., and can be found on the five well know “Double Face” compilations. Produced in association with DJ Kost, the first five volumes respectively sold at 40.000, 70.000 and the last three volumes at 200.000 units each. Double Face 5, released in January 2003, has already gone platinum.
