About Me

Kobe is a vocalist who has been singing for many years and has been truly blessed to sing with many of todays most popular Gospel, R&B, Pop, and Opera artists. He discovered his love for music at the age of 5 while listening to likes of Patti Labelle and Sam Cooke.
Kobe has sung professionally for several years doing background vocals in various groups for artists such as Patti Labelle, Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce, Rob Thomas(Matchbox 20), Yolanda Adams, Byron Cage, Ne-Yo, Heather Headley, Darius Rucker (Hootie and the Blowfish), Katherine McPhee, Vanessa Hudgens, Andrea Bocelli, Kirk Franklin, Kristin Chenoweth and Donnie McClurkin. He has shared the stage with performers including Mary J. Blige, Bono, Usher, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Sheryl Crow, Garth Brooks, John Melloncamp, Ciara, Vanessa Williams, Queen Latifah, Joss Stone, Betty Levette, Bill Cosby, and Smokey Robinson. Kobe has performed as a vocalist in the “We Are One” Concert, for the inaugural Kick Off for President Barack Obama with Bruce Springsteen and Beyonce. In addition he was also a vocalist with Bruce Springsteen in the Super Bowl XLIII Halftime Show. Kobe has also sung background vocals for the Gospel Heritage Conference in 2006 and 2007 in Washington, DC. During the conferences he sang with Micah Stampley, Bishop Paul Morton and others. Kobe has had the opportunity to appear several times on Bobby Jones Gospel on BET singing background for Byron Cage, Brent Jones and CoKo from the R&B group SWV. He has also had the opportunity to do background vocals for Natalie Wilson. Kobe can also be seen doing backgrounds with Byron Cage’s choir on TVONE, and TBN.
The choir from his church was selected to sing during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial on the national mall November 2006 as it was broadcasted live on CNN and other worldwide television outlets. That same choir has had the opportunity to sing for presidential candidate Hilary Clinton on two occasions.
Kobe has recorded as a background vocalist on several cd projects including the Ebenezer A.M.E Church Choir Project, Sistah Peaches Project, Keith Williams and Again I Say Rejoice, and John Tillery. Kobe participated in shows such as The 30th and 31st Kennedy Center Honors, Christmas in Washington for former President Bush, The National Symphony Orchestra Holiday Concert and Bobby Jones Gospel. He has also worked behind the scenes at such shows as the 2007 and 2008 BET Awards and The 2008 Grammy Salute to Gospel Music. Kobe made a brief appearance on the last season of hit HBO series The Wire. He has also performed as a soloist in various areas including DC, Cleveland, and Philadelphia.
As a solo artist Kobe has had an opportunity to perform at hundreds of events, including metropolitan churches, coffee houses, for non profit organizations, aboard The Spirit of Washington, at RFK Stadium, the DC Convention Center, for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, at Howard University, for The U.S. Air Force, and the DC Jail. Kobe has also ministered in several other places in and out of the country. . He has sung at the Baltimore Artscape Festival, Bohemian Caverns, Cada Vez, Zanzibar and H20 on the Potomac waterfront. Kobe has appeared on the local gospel show “For His Glory” on CTV where he had the opportunity to perform some of his original material. Kobe is hard at work recording for his debut solo project of current yet timeless music. He continues to stay focused and move forward in the field of entertainment.
