She's classy, she's enchanting and she's here. Watch out ladies and gentlemen, cause you'll never want to stop listening to the superb voice of Vanessa. Always showing a passion for music, she started taking voice lessons at the tender age of 5 under the tution of some of the best teachers in Malta. So far she has participated in countless local festivals, obtaining excellent results in the majority of them, making her at ease on stage and in front huge audiences. Vanessa has also appeared numerous times on local TV stations and in 2003, she took part in the television series 'Junior Popstars', a popular show during which Vanessa got to show off her talent in singing, acting and dancing for more than a whole year on the national Maltese TV station, TVM. In 2003 Vanessa gained even more experience when she took part in 'Ti Amo' international festival, held every year in Onesti Romania. The event was given coverage by local Romanian media, and so Vanessa appeared in various newspapers, on a large number of radios and also on the national Romanian TV station when the festival was broadcasted live. Competing against other singers from 16 countries, Vanessa placed second making her small country proud of her. Vanessa enjoyed herself so much, that she decided she wanted to go back the year after, and she did, in 2004, only this time the competition was extremely harder since she competed in the adult section. She placed second once again. Also, later that year, in December 2004, she participated in the Pompeii International festival, obtaining 4th place.2004-2005, was an important year for this young singer, as Vanessa had a massive exposure in Malta, when she was the resident singer in the program 'Kichenette' on Net TV, for about 9 months making herself become more and more familiar with the Maltese public. Vanessa has also made sure she was there in all the important events happening in the island, and these include singing when the Pope visited malta, in the annual 'Jazz Festival', taking part in the show 'Beyond the Barricade' and very recently performing for CHOGM delegates when the head of countries had their annual meeting, this year held in Malta. In the mean-time, fourteen year old Vanessa starting taking drama lessons and she has had the privilege of acting in almost all the important theatres in Malta. She has started taking part in Musicals at the age of seven and so far, she has taken part in about 12 musicals, including '1565', 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' and recently in 'Seussical', which was held in the most important, international theatre in Malta, The Manoel Theatre. It was also when she started experimenting mostly with song-writing and when she discovered her terrific talent in writing the most catchy tunes to magnificent lyrics reflecting mostly experiences which were and still are significant to Vanessa, making her songs heartfelt and sincere.2005 reached its climax when she became one of the sixteen finalists in the Malta Junior Song for Europe, with one of her most rocky compositions, 'The Real Me'. This event is considered as one of the main highlights for teen artists just like Vanessa, and it was broadcasted live on most television channels where it is estimated that it was watched by more than 20,000 people, not to mention the attention it was given by newspapers and radio stations. Her other entry, 'One Day', also one of her compositions, made it to the final 50, from around 150 entries. 2006 has been a very busy year for Vanessa, for she had tons of shows and performed almost every weekend. She's written new songs and is hoping to record them soon. It was also with her own composition 'Turn on the Radio' that she made it to the final 14 of the Junior Song For Europe, the most prestigious festival for teens the age of Vanessa. There were 147 entries in all and only the best of the best got chosen! The festival will be held on the 16th September and the winner will represent Malta in the Junior Eurovision, competing against various artists representing their countries from all over Europe. Vanessa is currently attending Masquerade Theatre Arts School in Malta, studying drama, voice and Jazz dancing. She loves music so much; she is studying both the piano and the harp. Vanessa is also sitting for Trinity College examinations in drama, voice and piano. Still taking voice lessons, she is now emphasising on developing more her song writing and taking it a step further, so she is currently recording her own stuff in a recording studio in London. Vanessa is currently a student at the Malta Academy of Performing Arts, where she is being coached by ‘Pop Idol’ coaches John Moodi and Cece Sammy, as well as Joshua Alamu.So make sure you don't miss this first-class singer, with a fantastic voice that's got power, energy combined with a caress of sweetness, cause She Believes She Can Show You The Real Her!
