When I'm posting online on message boards it's nice to have a Myspace profile so people can learn a little more about me and I can learn a little about their interests. I know lots of people do make friends through Myspace and I think it's great, but I'm not really looking to meet anyone from Myspace on a one-to-one basis or have Messenger chats. I prefer to meet as part of a social group and I'd be happy meeting anyone with shared interests in the context of group meetings. In particular I started the Glasgow Chocolate, Coffee & Conversation Meetup Group at http://coffee.meetup.com/308/ to socialise with new people and have somewhere to meet up with anyone I run into online.I haven't contacted many people via this site but it's nice to have Anton Newcombe of The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Saint Etienne and singer Miranda Lee Richards on my friends list, perhaps I'll contact them someday:-)
