SLANTOOTH

About Me

Slantooth has been rocking the northwest with his trademark metalheadz influenced sound for over a decade. This skilled veteran has played every role. Dj, producer, promoter, Compound Records Seattle owner and coming soon, label head.
His dj sets have been well received around the country. He has played from the east coast to the west coast with some stops in between. With his tastes leaning to the old school he constantly delivers to give the crowd what they need to move. If you asked Slantooth to describe his style he would say “Crowd Style, it’s all about the crowd! I'm watchin' the feet!”.
Some of Slantooth’s musical influences include Dillinja & Lemon D, Tech Itch, Ed Rush & Optical, Goldie, Ray Kieth, Kemal, Andy C and more. Slantooth's natural talent behind the decks has brought him the opportunity to open for all of those influences mentioned above. He has also shared the bill with the likes of Dom & Roland, Ink, Loxy, Keaton, Fierce, Jumping Jack Frost, Dieselboy, Ryme Tyme and so many others.
As a producer Slantooth is really starting to heat things up. Working out details for a few of his own releases with other labels, Slantooth hopes to get Compound Seattle Recordings up and running very soon. His tracks have been getting support as far away as Australia, across the country in Florida and loads of support at home from the Compound Kru.
Compound Records San Francisco was open in 1998 which along with Compound Records Seattle (2000) was the westcoasts only all drum and bass stores. After managing the store and being responsible for all the ordering, Slantooth bought out the store in 2002 and continued to run it as the ONLY all drum and bass store on the westcoast.
The Compound Records Kru consists of Slantooth, 8 year member Olcyrus, the most recent recruit Emerald City Monty, and producer EnemyMind. Compound Records Seattle has always managed to stay at the forefront of the seattle drum and bass scene with their many performances along with club nights at various venues around the city over the years.
As always Slantooth continues to push on. He has a steady amount of shows around the northwest area. He hopes his production and DJ work will get him to the places that he has unfortunately not been able to play.
Slantooth has been turning out more tunes than ever and they are slowly getting in to the hands of some exciting dj’s. Compound Kru holds down a Bi-monthly night in Seattle as well as a weekly radio show in NYC. Keep your ears open for original tunes from Slantooth along with the launch of Comound Seattle Recordings.
