Flamingo is a living proof that Lithuanian rock can be just as fresh-sounding and genre-bending as the true pearls of the global rock music scene like Radiohead. Taking cues from best acts in diverse styles like indie, progressive and alternative rock, but not copying them, the four-piece act is one of the few intriguing young bands (including Gravel and Axis) that constitute the refreshing new wave of Lithuanian rock. Listening to their sophisticated but instantly engaging songs makes it clear that Flamingo have potential for being much more than a local highlight. The band promises to confirm this with their groundbreaking debut album, coming in Autumn 2007, which they hope to kickstart their international career.
