Ten years ago her church inspiration and choir-developed voice began to grow wings and fly. She soared right in to the R&B realm and began writing songs from her heart. With songs like, So Good and Ghetto Thang, in rotation with the Southeasts largest station, Hot 105.7, DShanty began to make a name for herself. Opening for an array of artists from Denise LaSalle to L.L. Cool J. she slow-cooked and molded her style into the spicy soul gumbo you all will soon be ordering. She sings what feels good to her and blends it into her autobiographical catalog of pain, love and wisdom and delivers a garden full of beautiful flowers disguised as songs soon to be regarded as classics. When asked of her motivation to keep climbing the musical mountain that so many people give up the fight with, she simply answered, I do it for Chandani! With a powerful record label to call home now and a creative writing team to provide the canvas on which her colorful lyrics can be painted, she has begun to create her masterpiece. With several thousand plays on her MySpace page she quickly saw that the things she has to say in this life need to be heard. The mystery of such a giant sound coming from a voice box supported by a frame built upon five plus feet of pure passion is just what it shall remaina mystery.
