About Me

I just moved from Portland, OR to Denver, starting up a new sustainable business directory here. I am kind of in ad sales, which is strange, but it's socially responsible and environmentally sustainable, so I don't feel like when i go to bed at night, my soul is slowly seeping out of me.
I love seeing live music and discovering new bands, and even if i don't like them, I like watching other people get excited about them. I had a nice repetoire going in Portland, and now I'm rather lost, so if you have a recommendation, let me know.
I love democracy, which is maybe idealistic, but it really does have a tremendous amount of potential.
I love theatre and i especially love slam poetry, i've recently taken to getting outside with my camera and developing pictures in the darkroom, and i enjoy a good game of ultimate frisbee from time to time.
I've been told i'm very, very sarcastic.
And then, there are things like this...

I've been told that my type is "nerdy but cute," and I fought it for a while, but it's pretty much true.

My favorite types of people are ones that are really passionate about something, what it is doesn't matter, as long as it gets them excited.

Also, I can't resist people in old crewneck sweaters or emotionally confusing bohemians in worn t-shirts. It's a weakness.

Music:

I like really sad music a lot of the time, so anything that rips your heart out of your chest while you're listening to it. Chris Pureka, Ani, Mirah, Tracy Chapman, netraul milk hotel, the weakerthans, the be good tanyas. More recently, the avett brothers, tv on the radio, lavendar diamond, heroes and villains, boy eats drum machine, the morals, copy. Send me some music, I'll listen to it.

Cat's Cradle, 1984, I know Why the Caged Bird Sings, all the Chuck Palahnuik books (I always spell his name wrong, and i know that they're predictable and written the same way all the time, but i still like them), the World According to Garp, The Wizard of Oz, Manifesta, anything by david sedaris (although i prefer listening to him), a heartbreaking work of staggering genius, you shall know our velocity, the life of pi, four in the morning.
