GUTENBERG! THE MUSICAL!
Written by Scott Brown and Anthony King
Directed by Alex Timbers
Starring Darren Goldstein and David Turner

..A smashing success! Scott Brown and Anthony King are superb comic writers. GUTENBERG! proves that two actors and a cloakroom full of hats can stand up to anything choreographed by Susan Stroman - and contains one of the most resourceful feats of stagecraft I..ve seen Off Broadway. Christopher Fitzgerald and Jeremy Shamos are an excellent duo... - Jason Zinoman, The New York Times *
..There are lots of genuine laughs in GUTENBERG! . . . all cleverly executed by the hilarious Fitzgerald and Shamos... - Frank Scheck, New York Post
..Inspired, flawlessly calibrated and smart. A thoroughly winning, dead-on musical comedy directed with playfulness and precision by Alex Timbers. Fitzgerald and Shamos strike the perfect tone... - Laura Collins-Hughes, The New York Sun
..A gleefully goofy affair that..s loaded with laughs. Fitzgerald and Shamos are both total delights... - Joe Dziemianowicz, Daily News
..Hysterically funny! Writers Anthony King and Scott Brown produced an uproarious script - funnier than ..The Drowsy Chaperone.. and ..[title of show]... The exquisite comic timing of Christopher Fitzgerald and Jeremy Shamos leaves the audience howling with laughter. Alex Timbers.. direction is seamless... - Erin McClam, Associated Press
..It seems that Monty Python..s whole troupe has taken possession of two New York na..fs, aspiring musical-theatre writers Bud and Doug, in this goofy and inspired parody of Broadway bombast... - Pamela Renner, The New Yorker
..Riotously funny, thanks to adorably enthusiastic performances from Jeremy Shamos and Christopher Fitzgerald under the tight direction of Alex Timbers... - Raven Snook, Time Out New York
..Brilliant.. - New York Magazine (Approval Matrix)
..Hilarious and immensely satisfying. A delicious comic success. Fitzgerald and Shamos give tireless and endearing performances... - Andy Propst, Village Voice
..Zany! zany! zany! One hell of a goofy evening! Christopher Fitzgerald and Jeremy Shamos are exemplary. The actors, having been greatly aided by director Alex Timbers, pull off the yuks with aplomb. Fitzgerald is one of the funnier comedians on the New York stage. Shamos is exceedingly droll... - Steven Suskin, Variety
..The funniest jokes in any musical of 2006! Fresher, more vibrant, and more truthful than most of what you see on Broadway today . . . Christopher Fitzgerald and Jeremy Shamos are brilliant - as inseparable and irreplaceable a team as Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick in ..The Producers... So bloody good!.. - Matthew Murray, Talkin.. Broadway
..A deliciously horrifying concoction of ego and earnestness - with plenty of campy awfulness to let us laugh at the na..vet.. of this misguided creative team. What raises the show above kitsch is Bud and Doug..s heartfelt enthusiasm and genuine good intentions. Brown and King give their characters enough heart to make their ambitions sympathetic. Their presentation, which is as much about Bud and Doug and their own follies, carries just enough emotion to give the comedy depth... - Jena Tesse Fox, BroadwayWorld.com
..The best of the the new breed of post-ironic, tongue-in-cheek musical spoofs, playing post-modern slapstick comedy like ..The Producers.. meets ..[title of show],.. and packaged as a rare, successful ..SNL.. skit. Christopher Fitzgerald and Jeremy Shamos dish out two of the season's most glimmering performances... - Stephan Paschalides, flavorpill.net
..A small treasure... - David Rothenberg, WBAI Radio
