JR (John Roselada), one half of the duo, started his commitment to music at the young age of five when he began learning classical piano. JR quickly showed a tremendous aptitude for the instrument and was soon placing and winning in prodigy competitions. After a great running start in the classical arena which included sponsorship by Yamaha, JR soon found his musical tastes widening to include most all other genres. With a voracious appetite for great music, JR enmeshed himself into the music of famous singer-songwriters and pop superstars of the day and the composers of late. JR, a great study, began to pen his own tunes around the age of fifteen and kept at it until he fine tuned his skills and blossomed into the prolific writer he is today. JR toured nationally as the musical director for a mainstream artist and first entered the Billboard dance music charts by his early twenties.....
Sammy O (Samuel Orozco II), the other part of the equation, is no stranger to the art and business of music. Since the age of a toddler Sammy O had been exposed to music of the highest calibur. Born to music industry parents ensured that Sammy O developed an ear and love for music that most children his age couldn't grasp or understand. Sammy O started playing his first instrument, the guitar, at the age of eleven. After years of discipline and mostly self taught lessons, he began using his skills in the studio. During this time, Sammy O was mentored and encouraged by many industry veteran musicians. It didn't take long for those same mentors to recognize Sammy O's abilities and to start inviting him to play on stage with them. By the age of eighteen Sammy O found himself touring nationally as a lead guitarist. Naturally, Sammy O followed his calling and soon started refining his writing skills during the time he was paying his dues on the road.......
Sometime in early 2002, the dynamic junta found themselves collaborating on material while both were on opposite sides of the country. JR was busy on the west coast writing and producing for Sammy O's mother Lizzi, an accomplished gospel singer, while Sammy O was roughing it in hotels and stages in the deep south.Through some stroke of luck or divine intervention, one of Sammy O's early works was played during a break in the studio for JR, who immediately felt where his soon-to-be partner was musically coming from. JR quickly began arranging according to Sammy O's melody and at that time, the seed that became the bond-beyond-music was planted.
Since then, the seamless creators have penned and produced songs spanning the whole gamut of genres and artists....Whether it be an R&B song for 11 Grammy Award winning singer Tony Lindsay (Santana), a tear jerking wedding ballad for the legendary Tower of Power crooner Lenny Williams, a hard hittin' gangsta track for west coast rap icon Spice 1, a soundtrack for film or television, or a savory and smooth salsa inspired tune for acclaimed vocal titan Howard Hewett, the IKLECTIX have quickly become known as the "go to" guys for cutting edge material for those who are in the know.
The IKLECTIX are now recognized as a songwriting/production team that hand crafts music far ahead of the curve as opposed to "mimicking" whats already been done. With veteran chops, forward thinking, the use of technology, young ears and perspective, the IKLECTIX have been blessed with the elusive X factor necessary to be long term players in an industry with too many new school "producers" and few true songwriters.......
The IKLECTIX are currently working on hit tracks in their new pro audio/digital studio for many of the industry's finest multi-platinum artists as well, the new crop of emerging Pop, Hip Hop, Rap, R&B, Rock, and Latin talents......
