In August of 1997, Samantha Pryce had an astonishing idea to start her own magazine. As an English graduate of Long Island University, writing and editing her work only came easier. The greatest questions that would remain in her mind were; where will the capital come from and how many people would be willing to work for free until the magazine became profitable.
In the beginning Ms. Pryce managed to put together a staff of editors, writers, distributors, and much more. In Ya Ear! Magazine began to breathe and was on its way. Ms. Pryce made her home her headquarters and wherever there was a computer became headquarters also.
As In Ya Ear! Magazine began to grow and flourish, the demand became even greater and the workload became more intense.
The challenge on the staff was increased which was difficult because no one was being paid, so this became a crossroad.
Ms. Pryce now successfully runs In Ya Ear! Magazine on her
own and has been doing this for five years. Although support has come and gone, her number one fans are her family and best friend. Through all the transitions and hardships, they have remained constant supporters of her vision.
In Ya Ear! Magazine was established because Ms. Pryce felt that other publications targeting the “Christian†community were not successful in getting “personal.†She believes that many magazines are hesitant in talking about “real†issues. The publications objective is to provide information, which educates, informs, uplifts, and educates its readers. The audience targeted
by In Ya Ear! Magazine are those who want to be educated,
informed, and uplifted.
Overall, Ms. Pryce is confident that she has been fulfilling her objective.
