About Me

When I was growing up I had dreams of being a pro basketball player. When I realised that wasn't going to happen I hit the books, and eventually I went to uni.

Being the first person to graduate in my family was amazing! Now I'm working as a postgrad studying neuroscience at Birmingham Uni... I don't want to go in to it here (it's very complicated!) but I love my job! Maybe it's because I've embraced my inner geek, but I like to think it's because I really do enjoy my work AND one day what I do could really help people.

When I'm not working I hang out with my amazing mates...

My old uni mates...

My Interests

BASKETBALL! Working out, buying stuff on ebay that I don't really need, films, music (especially live stuff) and keeping in touch with my mates.

I'd like to meet:

Anybody who's up for a laugh!

Music:

MUSE! Seeing them live just can't be done enough.

Other than that, a bit of rock (Fun Lovin Criminals, Chili Peppers, especially the Californication/BloodSugarSexMagic type stuff) a handful of Dance (Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, gotta love CHARLY!) even a little bit of hip hop (Gorillaz, Jurassic 5, A Tribe Called Quest, not a fan of the gangster stuff) with some nice funk & soul thrown in (James Brown, Barry White, Isaac Hayes), and loads of other music that would take too long to list...

Movies:

I like films that make me think, like Children of Men, Run Lola Run, Full Metal Jacket, Vertigo, American History X, The Usual Suspects, that sort of stuff. I also like films that you can just watch to chill out and have a laugh, like Bill & Ted (both of them!), Lost Boys, Blues Brothers, and badly dubbed martial arts films, that kind of thing!

Television:

Malcolm in the Middle, The Apprentice, Scrubs, Neighbours, The Mighty Boosh, Mark Steel Lectures, Pinky & the Brain :).

Books:

The Crucible, Of Mice & Men, Blott On The Landscape, Porterhouse Blue, Fight Club, The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat, The Vampire Lestat, most stuff by HP Lovecraft.

Heroes:

My Family, especially my Dad, because he's achieved so much for someone who's never had anything easy. So them and my old basketball coach Clive Allen, because he's a legend!
