I love progress. I don't considering developing every square inch of land with "name brands we can trust" progress. I don't consider chemicals in our food to vary their taste and longevity progress. When people start asking themselves, "why am I doing what I'm doing right now" and turn off their auto pilot - that is progress. When we question fancy packaging, on our products or people, and make responsible educated choices as consumers that's progress. I hate that the dump is the highest point in my city and that I can smell it from my house, but atleast it serves as a reminder that everything I throw away has a consequence. It doesn't disappear.
