About Me
I am a graduating senior from the University of Tennessee, yes there ARE institutions fo higher learning in the South, despite nasty rumors to the contrary. I fence for fun, I fence for relaxation, I fence for the satisfaction i get from a bout well played, or a point well scored, I fence because I have littl eelse to do with my life and it seemed a helluvalot better than underwater basketweaving or knitting to the oldies. My degree is in the Classics, not those pesky English ones, the real ones, you "Menin aeta thea..." kind of stuff. If I were cornered under the hot lights I would loudly rotest to being a Historiographer, with a decidedly Hellenist bent (again not that annoying period after the "greeks"and before the "romans"...but just the Greeks, the Greeks and nothing but the Greeks.) I have an interest in "power management" in the Bronze Age...but that is boring and you who are reading this dont want to be concerned with all of that. "What are you going to do with that?" I am often asked after stating with a grin my major...I used to cheerfully reply that I would either teach or go be a Souschef in New Orleans. Now, thanks to Blake, I get to even more cheerily say with an even wider grin that I am going to be a fencing instructor...and no not that chain link or white pickett shyte, the real stuff, foil and epee, because sabre is...barbaric...ish...
