About Me

I decided to keep it short and simple, for those of you who know me, this isn't easy. To describe my life in a few sentences... My name means to make peace through the Most High, needless to say I was marked at birth to be compassionate and spiritual. I love studying different religions to find the harmony of God in all. My life is driven to find peace in the hectic often chaotic world of being a single mom from Oakland. Not to complain, I've built a wonderful business of helping others and most importantly, I have a thirteen year old son that brightens my life, even as we enter puberty! Well, welcome to my page, learn a fraction about me and keep in touch.

Music is my life and I wouldn't know where to begin. Jazz is what I cant live without. The voice is my favorite instrument... Ella, Carmen, Nina, Betty Carter at yoshi's was my introduction to "real Jazz" at 14! Thank you Auntie Ann! My Mom conceived me to Stevie Wonder and Earth Wind and Fire would be my favorite (if I had to choose). I appreciate the authenticity of English R&B more than the american modern version (Brand New Heavies are back together by the way). I do love Blues and even appreciate Country (you can't sleep on Patsy). I LOVE world music, Brazil, Cuba and Reggae of course...Steel Pulse, Barrington! and Eighties/English Rock is my favorite Rock and let me see... um I listen to classical when I'm trying to think. I love film! Spike Lee was my intro to independant film. Then I saw Julie Dash's "daughters of the dust" and she took it to a whole notha level with the beauty of the shots and spiritual elements of the character... tied in a little history and you have my favorite movie! Color Purple has it hands down for most lines known by heart. I also like Urban Comedies and Old Musicals like Tammy......

Television:

Nowadays it's simply embarrassing to admit anything that you watch but, I'm guilty of my AV (CSI, Law and Order) pleasures. I can't do soap operas.. too much! but I tell ya reality TV is just as bad. Flavaflav has brought us to our knees in bad taste. I do try to balance it out with alittle PBS and Sunday Morning Gospel... It's all fun .. .. ..

Books:

My projects are my favorite right now....WAIT NO...*Please find and read Sofi's Load by Fania... you can find her link on my top friends. If you like Zora Neal Hurston, Toni Morrison, you'll love Fania! Now, you can read below and look to the near furture for...1. GVN, a Photo book from Georgia Von Noble, one of the first Brown Skin International Models. 2. Godfather Fables, the creation of an Urban Super Hero written by all cultures and ages! ......

Heroes:

All of my people that have past .. me. Especially my Great Grandmother Arabelle "Patanisha" Kingsby and my Great Uncle Jake Simmons. They passed on much to be proud of and a legacy to uphold!
