About Me

I love to write, do research on various topics, look at the world in new and startling ways. I want to be able to, one day, understand all the deep mysteries of life. It is to this end that I've dedicated my time and my energy. I live alone. I work alone. And I write alone. But I don't want to be alone. Funny how things work out. I am, to continue on this theme, the ultimate in all contradictions. I believe in God; but think religion is for chumps. I am a student of science, particulary physics, particulary modern physics; but I also believe in the supernatural, the world beyond our senses. I think family is important, just so long as I don't have to deal with them. I love all people; but think most are so ignorant they couldn't find water if they fell out of a boat. I think life is beautiful and marvelous; it is also really nasty and unsatisfying. I want to explore the world; I don't want to leave my apartment. And so on. I feel all these things because I never make up my mind as to who I am. I'm always changing, but I keep within me the little boy who used to look up into the sky...hoping to catch a glimpse of Santa and his flying reindeer. I write all the time, and I mean ALL the time. I love the feel and the sound my fingers slapping the keyboard. I love it when I've worked myself into a plot wall, and yet somehow find a way to walk right through it. Most of all, I love it when something I have looked at a certain way for years turns out to be totally different than I thought. In truth, everything is that way. Our definitions for things are more like assumptions than anything else. We can never see the truth because there are always hidden variables, and these quantities depend on all others. So to know any one thing, we have to know all things. But with the universe in a constant state of flux, we end up like a dog chasing its tail. So much the better though. "Semper aliquid nova" is my motto. Translation: There's always something new.

Padawan
You are innocent, intellegent, and strong. Your heart is full of light, but you are vulnerable. You look to others for guidance, so you must be wary of who you trust, and who you listen to, for you are still very seseptable to the Darkside. You also crave understanding and are as happy to observe and asses as you are to take part. Your aura of innocence makes others underestimate your strength and wisdom. Like a Jedi Knight, material things mean little to you. You do your best to be a good person and follow the code of the Jedi as close as you can, but are still learning what it truley means. The Code of the Jedi:
There is no Emotion ~ There is Peace.
There is no Ignorance ~ There is Knowledge.
There is no Passion ~ There is Serenity.

What Fantasy Archetype Are you?

The Mentor
You are the prestigous Mentor! You're akin to Gandalf (Lord of The Rings), Merlin (ARthurian Legend), Obi Wan Kenobi (Star Wars), Aslan (Narnia), Door (Neverwhere), Dumbledore (Harry Potter) and Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander (Wizard's First Rule). You are wise and knowing, and know that there is not much time left for the Unlikely Hero to defeat The Totally Wicked Villain. Only you know the true motives and past of The Villain, so it's up to you to teach the Unlikely Hero all he has to know. Be careful as you'll invariably regret not telling The Unlikely Hero things sooner rather than later. You like teaching and often care very much for others.

Books:

My favorite books are: Life, the Universe and Everything; The Rosy Crucifixion Trilogy; Breakfast of Champions; Communion. I also like books about Quantum Physics and astronomy written for the layman. Favorite is "In Search of Schrodinger's Cat". I like gigantic picture books on astronomy, where I can look at the images of a nebula or galaxy. I also tend to get a wild hair occasionally and break out my old physics and calculus text books, just to make sure I haven't lost my touch...plus that stuff is really fun. Audio books are also really cool. There is nothing like hearing a story, reminds me of sitting around a campfire on summer nights with childhood friends. Best audio series is Adams' Hitchhikers Guide.
