The streets entitle him the “Ray Charles of Rap†because of how he delivers his lyrics to the tracks in such a powerful and dynamic way. When he is on stage at a local club, he livens up the crowd with his undeniable original style of hip hop, rhythm & gangsta and soul. “I am a waitress at seeing the crowd rising their hands up in the air, walking close to the stage (dancing) and a few were bowing up and down at him in praise when he was performing “Spit Fire†and “Gotta Get Your Money†produced by K-Duv at the Palms Bar Hollywood on March 30, 2007. This was the night I knew I had to manage him so I can to get him in the music industry. He is the most talented blind MC I have ever encountered,†stated Toya Peraza of T. Peraza Management. He has a unique West Coast style with an east coast lyrically concept and a little Twista approach when his voice rides to the track like a rollercoaster.
Octane was born on July 23, 1982 as Octavious Gayle rose on the eastside of Long Beach, CA. He started rapping at the age of 6 and writing lyrics at 12 years old. But on August 1, 2004, the doctors found a brain tumor in his head and he had to make a choice to either live as a blind man or go the exit route. Octane made a wise decision in getting the surgery which was a 10 hours operation and doctors claim that it was a 10% chance he wouldn’t survive this brain surgery. Although, he lost his sight, he never lost his desire to live life and be independent of himself and still be able to consistently bring his music to the next level.
Octane is currently working on his “82 Octane†album and he has a mixtape out in the streets called “Spit Fire Mixtape†from 2006. He sold over 100 copies and gave out 200 copies, just to get the streetbuz out that Octane the Flame is going to spit those fire lines to club bouncing tracks and continuously keep you wanting more! He has worked with Derrell Harper who produced the Makaveli album of Death Row Records, Devo of Dere Entertainment, Mr. Tak, K-Duv, and Von Jackson of Hoodsent Entertainment. Octane convinces Ricky Ricardo Simmons at Intervision Industries to listen to his CD although he doesn’t care for hip-hop music but proclaim him to be “very giftedâ€. Octane has performed at the Palms Bar, Rhythm Lounge, La Conga Bar & Grill, D’Piazza, and Club 49. What makes him the undisputed lyrically acclaim is that he can freestyle to any track, make hits that can play in your head over and over again and his music is very positive and has his testimonies of life in the lyrics. He is a real man making real music that will make you look at life in a different way.
