About Me

I just moved back to San Jose from Virginia. Oh, I saw this on someone else’s profile... if one of my friends has a story or something about me or what we did together sometime; post it like a story as a comment... I'll see about doing the same for you.
I believe that it is inherently better to know... to know things that are true, to know as much as possible.
Oh this is a good idea to post... someone at a job interview asked me to name 3 good and bad things about myself... the good things were honest, quick thinking, and resourceful. The bad things were short-tempered, tactless (relating to honesty!), and somewhat lazy. I didn't get the job. (I found a better one, so it was ok though)

My Interests

books, politics, the outdoors, backpacking, economics, ideas in general, seemly interested also in agriculture... I really am into a lot of things and I like tryin new stuff...

I'd like to meet:

I'll talk to anyone... mostly interesting people though... or at least people that are confident enough to think that they are interesting, as I assume about myself.

Music:

country, most kinds anyway.... emo, some rock... ok wtf, "the ribbons on my wrists say do not open before christmas" ... what has "emo" become?! lol

Movies:

Pure Country, Star Wars, The Matrix, Indiana Jones, V for Vendetta. Ok so maybe Pure Country and Indiana Jones didnt really make me think, but they are good movies!... Love Actualy is my favorite "girlie movie" and I like Notting Hill too...

Television:

I don't really watch tv, just movies ya know.... Though I used to watch the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES!!... HEROS IN A HALF SHELL! TURTLE POWER!!... err yeah FAMILY GUY!!! FUTUROMA!!!

Books:

Human Action, Man Economy and State, Atlas Shrugged, the Bible, Maus, SciFi Novels, 1984, Into The Wild, Dune, Catcher in the Rye, Harry Potter, Hemingway, English Romantic Poets... If youve read Into the Wild please message me.

Heroes:

Freakin... Hank Rearden and Howard Roark... Neville Longbottom... Richard Garriot

My Blog

Defending Walmart

"Ideological" people and "intellectuals" seem to hate Walmart.  I put both words in quotes because I consider myself to be both ideological and intellectual... and I certainly don't hate Walmart....

Very basic Utilitarian Libertarianism

So this is mostly a continuation of the previous discussion on Natural Rights libertarianism... Many people have asked me (usually with some anger?) how a system could possibly work without taxes.&nbs...

Natural Rights Libertarianism

Libertarianism is a relatively modern name for an older bunch of ideas manifesting themselves in the American Revolution, based, to at least some extent, on the ideas of John Locke, along with some ot...
