About Me

Steve Christie - maker of Children’s Television Themes From A Parallel Dimension As featured on Stuart Maconie’s Freak Zone... take a trip down damaged memory lane - a lovely 40 track album featuring themes from imaginary TV shows of the 70s, 80s and beyond... music by Steve, with help from a few friends all playing REAL instruments like flute, piano, drums, guitars, harmoniums and things like kitchen cutlery (Ivor Cutlery), old microwave doors...Tracks by The BBC Radiographic Workshop, Max Winkel, Eric Griffiths...Steve Christie is also responsible for Music For Department Stores an album of department store sounds and smells, (smells mainly from 1974)...like opening a 40 year old pot of marmalade.Steve’s career highlights include upsetting Elton John, Paul Jones and and once gobbing in an obnoxious top sound engineer’s tea when he worked at George Martin’s Air Lyndhurst Studios as a runner in the mid 1990s. No one messes with him.
Currently involved with Mr Steve Christey (Jadis, John Wetton Band) and a bassist (Steve Roberts) in the experimental trio Lounge Lizard He has also made a few films in the past... like this one called "Stej":
(Oh yes, if there’s a song still playing up the top of this page, and if you’re old-fashioned like me, you probably want to press STOP up there so you can hear this down here...)
The Day I Started Smoking - another of his films, (audios a bit shot on this) nicely black and white though... starring Rose Hooper, Claire Small and Tom Wood

HERE’s another one by Steve which won him a lovely glass award a few years ago - called "101 Jobs"
