"Absolute Power" by Micheal Baldacci. Just getting into it - but so far I am intrigued by a lawyer who is having second thoughts about getting married while his ex-girlfriend's dad has just watched the President of the United States get into a very comprimising position with someone else's wife - resulting in her death at the hands of a Secret Service agent...

"The Two-Minute Rule" by Robert Crais. I really love Robert Crais writing. His Elvis Cole novels are great detective stories. Gritty and with a strong flavour of old-style noir running through them. This one Introduces us to Max Holman - the so-called "Hero Bandit" - a former career bank robber. He is just getting released from prison after doing 10 years, only to find out that his estranged son, a policeman has been brutally murdered. He is consumed with anger, grief and the need for revenge - so he sets out to find out who did it - only to find it is much more complicated than he thought. Excellent read!!
