ABOUT LILY
Melody Maker (and heart breaker)
As a london-born girl about town, lily takes no lip, shoots from the hip and drinks from a hip flask. that's why her parents were so surprised when at the tender age of 15 she announced her intention of studying opera, classical, jazz and musical theatre (well, if your parents were hippies, how would you rebel?).
but being a crazy young chick in the heart of a vibrant hip hop and RnB neighborhood, lily couldn't help but be influenced by the sounds of her contemporaries, and in time she even started to appreciate some of the finer nuances of folk (DO NOT tell her mother!).
the upshot is that these days lily takes inspiration from all musical styles, and is equally at home penning tunes that take on board sounds as diverse as baroque choral to kickin' drum and bass. though, if the truth be known, what she's really good at, an' i mean really good at, is pure, unadulterated, can't-get-it-out-of-your-head pop.
but a word of warning. the somewhat diminutive gal may stand knee-high to a grasshopper, but her booming voice could shatter mount rushmore and she's got more attitude than you can shake a stick at. so, if you have a musical problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the ty-team.
ABOUT OWEN
The Slick Rhythm Stick (or Tub-thumping Tom, to his friends!)
Owen grew up in a sleepy backwater in dorset in the uk; the kind of place where you have to make your own entertainment (even at the risk of going blind). once puberty was out of the way he set about doing something more constructive with his hands, and soon discovered he was something of a musical whore - the kind of guy who'll pick up any old instrument; stroke, strum or slap it til it sings like a bird then toss it, deranged and depleted, into the corner. (To this day there are guitars and drum kits out there who'll say, yeah, he was a bastard, but he was so damn good).
in time-honoured rock tradition owen misspent his youth in a drunkage of happening bands, but following an extensive almost-breakthrough tour of the states in 1999 he had an epiphany of sorts, and realised that 8 weeks in the back of a van with 4 other sweaty post-pubescents was not necessarily playing to his skills.fortunately the lords of destiny (cleverly disguised as nepotism) prevailed, and he was able to focus on building his empire by converting a barn into one of the most frequented recording studios of our time. since that time he has produced a wide range of music from choir singers to punk rockers, and six years on he is acclaimed as a highly talented and experienced producer proficient in all the vintage and latest bells and whistles.
