ALFREDO ARCUSA.
Born in Barcelona on December 7, 1960.
Began playing drums when he was eleven years old.
He worked with the most notable artists of Catalonia:
Ovidi Montllor, Toti Soler, Pau Riba, Jordi Sabatés,
Conrad Setó, Joan Garrobé, BenjamÃn León, Amarok ...
At the end of 1986 Alfredo created his own project ALTAIR,
with pianist Isabel Muniente.
Member of "Live Music Now", a movement founded by the
legendary violinist Yehudi Menuhin, Altair portrayed themselves
internationally through the virtuosity and originality of their music,
reflected in "Altair"(1990) and "FantasÃas y Danzas"(1999), their
two studio-recorded albums from the firt part of his time as a duo.
Winner of the Adagio Contest (1994), Alfredo also began working
as a musician with groups of various styles, from Hard Rock to Jazz,
the Blues, and New Age, without forgetting dance music. He showcased
his work in the Orquesta Excelsior, performing with them over a thousand
times.
At the beginning of 2000, Alfredo reformed Altair with two news musicians:
Emilio Ruiz (keyboards) and Albert Guitart (bass). This newly formed group
recorded live their new album "Altair3" at the prestigious Bikini Lounge (BCN).
His music and interpretation had been admired and complimented by renowned musicians and magazines around the world.Danza del Gaucho
