About Me
It's the one and only DAYTONKAINWhats good peoples. I'm Dayton Kain, out here grindin' on this Mid Missouri underground scene.UPCOMING PROJECTS!!!!I've been in the studio non-stop lately workin' on My debut full-length album, "Come Drink Witt Me". Scheduled to be released in early 2007, this album will feature around 13 songs, with production by Apoc, SpecTone, 7 Notes Ent., D Steady and others.Shortly after the release of My album, other mixtapes will start to flood these streets. Working on the "Trifecta" mixtape alongside Madallion & Adge from My old crew the NU Writaz. Then of course My record label, Cold Cash Committee, Triple C... We will be putting out a mixtape. And I'll also be putting out the first installment of My solo mixtape series "Blue Chip: The Mixtape". Be sure to look out for some surprise DJ's & Hosts on that one.Yes I'm still unsigned, but I'm livin' lovely. Ain't no money like this independant money. JT the Bigga Figga is a perfect example of that one.You can find Me down here in Jeff City, I ain't hard to find. I don't stay locked up in the crib like some folks, I'm out there livin' life. Whether it's playin poker, bein' at the bar, at the club, the casino, it don't matter. I'm out there enjoyin this life. Cats say I drink and smoke to much, but you only live once. So if I die, I'll know I died happy.Kain was always a hip hop listener, but it wasn't until the 1998-99 that he started taking it serious. When a couple of his boys got life in prison for a murder chage, and another one got 27 years for an attempted murder charge, Kain knew he had to change his ways. After 3 years of constantly writing and record label letdowns, Dayton Kain released his debut album, "The Dynasty Begins...EP", in September of 2002. The title track garnered much radio play on the local college station, 88.9 KJLU. During this time, Kain was a co-host on "The Graveyard Shift", which was so controversial that it was taken off of 88.9's programming schedule. Many people believe this is due to a NAACP protest.
10 short months later, Dayton Kain released a CD filled with local artists. "Dayton Kain presents...LAS Vol. 1" was a major success for the local rap community, and featured something for everyone. While Kain only appeared on 3 of the CD's 12 tracks, his name was planted firmly in the city's hip hop scene. Even beef with radio DJ's couldn't stop this CD from being sold like crazy out of Kain's trunk. The CD was even profiled and reviewed in the Jefferson City News Tribune.
A non stop work ethic has allowed Dayton Kain to release his 3rd CD, 7 months later. "The ReMiXtApE" is simply the tip of the iceberg for everything that Kain plans to do in 2004. Kain is currently securing spots on other mixtapes, as well as other artist's CDs. He is also working on getting his own radio show with another radio station.
Deciding that the city needed something a bit more in 2004, Kain released his second installment in the LAS series. "Dayton Kain presents...LAS Vol. 2" came out in late 2004. Instead of featuring mainly local artists, Kain was able to enlist the help of Dame Grease and this CD also featured Kanye West, David Banner & Bonecrusher. This album remains the highest selling album in local music, surpassing many of the local rock bands.
With the lyrics for ya mind and the beats for ya ride, Dayton Kain is proving himself to be a mainstay in hip hop.influences:
