Heyo! My name is Katie and I'm a senior at Grafton High School. Next year I will be going to Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) majoring in Biology with a minor in anthropology. I want to be a forensic anthropologist...
I'm your typical small town high school girl. Everyone in town knows me...from people in my own school, to their parents...kids in the elementary schools, to the elders of the town. I am involved in way too many afterschool activities for my own good. I'm in Family and Community Leaders, Peer Leaders, Pep Band, Academic Decathlon, Editor-in-cheif of the school's newspaper, Prom Committee, Class Book Committee, plus I did indoor track this year. And I'm wicked involved in my church's youth group...which I'm sure everyone knows by now.
Speaking of being from a small town, want to hear some Grafton history? I've lived here all my life so I pretty much know the whole town (and its people) like the back of my hand. The gazebo in the common at the center of town was built for the movie "Ah, Wilderness" way back when. It was supposed to be torn down after filming, but they never got around to it, so now it just chills in town. Apparently Paul Revere once road through here...according to a sign on Providence Road...could it be true? We have a vet school, Tufts School of Vet. Med...but I think it's Cummings School of Vet Med now. We have a train station, three Cumberland farms, three zipcodes, more than three pizza places, plenty of condos, a tiny high school, and at the last official national census we had 14, 998 people in our town. Welcome to Grafton, MA! Did I mention our high school is about 200 people over capacity?
I don't have a boyfriend...which is nothing new. It's always been that way =) I'm always to concentrated on school to worry about that...plus being single has its perks! I have the best friends a person could ask for and I would defend them to the grave. We've all had our tough times but we've made it through...and that's something to say.
Plain and simple, I'm a nerd. I'm in AP Biology and I like it for the most part. I enjoy Pre-Calc, even though I complain about it a ton. I basically love school, hence why I can't wait for the next 10 years of schooling ahead of me =)
Music is my passion. I've been playing the clarinet since the 3rd grade and I am pretty darn good if I do say so myself. I've been in concert band since the 4th grade (and in the 4th grade I got moved up to the 5th grade "advanced" band =0). I was also in Pep band, pit band one year, and am in the woodwind Quintet! I can also play the saxophone, some trumpet, almost any Beatles song on the piano, and a few songs on this guitar. Along with all that comes the fact that everything I do has to be done while listening to music. I am writing this right now listening to music so that is probably why it is so long =)
