Dance-Fusion 2007 is proud to be the nation’s only private charity event. In the past three years we have donated over $11,000. Dance-Fusion prides itself to be able to not only host the nations most anticipated competition of the year as well as being 100% for charity.
This year Dance-Fusion is proud to announce UNICEF as this year’s charity. “UNICEF is the driving force that helps build a world where the rights of every child are realized†(UNICEF.org). UNICEF believes that for us to progress we must nurture and care for children. UNICEF is active throughout 191 countries through country programs and National Committees. We plan on giving half of our donations to an South-Asian based project and the other half to a North American based project.
History:
The first Dance-Fusion competition was started with the mission to gather teams across the country to compete in different types of dance forms. The first Dance-Fusion was held at Penn State University with over 500 fans in the audience and raised approximately $1,000 for a charity, Asha for Education. After its inaugural success, Dance-Fusion was moved to the Nation’s Capital, where over 1,000 fans cheered on their favorite teams raising $4,500 for Katrina Relief Fund, Earthquake in Pakistan relief, and KDBVillage.org.
What is Dance-Fusion?
Dance-Fusion is not like other competitions where the routines consist of only one type of dance or music. Instead, our competition fuses new genres of music that are spreading wildly amongst the youth today. It has brought many people back to their South Asian roots and showed them the culture of South Asia. Dance-Fusion is the nation’s only all charity show, where we donate all of our proceeds to charitable organizations. Dance-Fusion will have teams from across the nation trying to compete for prize money and to earn the title that they worked so hard to get. The spirit, the energy, and beats are all things that set this competition apart from the others.
DANCE-FUSION IS IN NO WAY ASSOCIATED WITH ANY SCHOOL DANCE TEAM; THOUGH WE MAY BE HOSTING OUR EVENT AT A SCHOOL’S AUDITORIUM WE WILL REMAIN NEUTRAL.
Who is JSK ENTERTAINMENT?
JSK Entertainment is a company that organizes events that enhance and promote the culture of the Indian Sub-Continent. In the past years JSK Entertainment has donated money to Asha for Education, UNICEF, KDBVillage.org, Pratham, Operation Smile, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the American Red Cross. Our mission is to look for charities that will help underprivileged youth who are deserving of our help.
