About Me

RubyQ kicked off as a refreshing new band in October 2003, when five students decided to join creative forces and form a musical ensemble.
Within eight months the band launched their debut CD. This triple-A side release offered an insight into the groups very varied musical domain. RubyQs music may move from Rock to Trip-hop, from Opera to Psychedelia and from Funk to melodious (Brit)Pop, but in the end, the music of RubyQ is uniquely and excitingly RubyQ
From their first public appearances, the group began to make an impression on varying audiences with their exciting, inspired live performances. A high light for RubyQ was winning the coveted professional Jury Prize at the prestigious Spazio Giovani festival (Foggia, Italy).
In their home country of the Netherlands, the band has generated a steadily growing fan-base by playing several - larger and smaller - venues (Tivoli, 013, Melkweg) and festivals (Zwarte Cross, Uitmarkt). Their enthusiasm, musical expertise, the quality of their song-writing material and the performance of their theatrical front lady has won them considerable critical acclaim.
The group released their first full-length album FashionFever/MusicPitch, which resulted in a deal with American record company Renaissance Records and international publisher Chrysalis Music.
