Hailing from the section of West Philadelphia known as “Da Bottom” this hip hop trio is a fresh breath of hip hop air. The name is Ammunition (lyrical ammunition) and the lyric are the realest that you will ever hear. There is no talk of having “20’s” on their whips or diamonds on their necks. When they rap these guys aren’t trying to fake it to make it such as other artists in their era. These guys are really artists, they really have songs! They know how to format a song from beginning to end. As of now Ammunition has a total of 100 songs already recorded plus many more that they haven’t even taken to the studio as of yet. The Ammunition trio consists of A.B., Key, and Vern and they all grew up within 3 blocks of each other, A.b. is from 32nd street, Key is from 33rd street, and Vern is from 34th street and the part of the bottom they come from is the underworld. Ammunition got together while hosting and performing every week at a freestyle cipher called freestyle Friday. They have a repertoire of club bangas, street anthems, and songs for every occasion. Ammo formed in 2004 when they put together the street album “No Hard Feelings”. You can really get a view of who Ammunition is in this album. Ammunition has just added a female to the group by the name of Baseemah known to the group as “Supastar”. Ammunition has won the title of “Who’s Next To Blow” in Philadelphia. The contest was judged by Philly’s own Bad Boy Recording artist E. Ness. Ammunition is never together when they write their songs but the chemistry is always right. Ammunition is now trying to take a bite out of the big apple. Ammunition has just won a showcase in New York City by the name of unsigned shines at the remote lounge. Don’t think this success came over night; it’s been a long time coming. Practice make perfect, asks Ammo who does 4 songs in an hour when they go to the studio, saving time and money. Compared to G-Unit and the Lox, these guys are different because they put their real life situations in their music. Ammunition has a group within themselves named 2 Much which consists of only A.B. and Key who are cousins, who has yet to release any music out on the streets. Each member in Ammo are solo artists, so that’s six acts in one. Now that deserves a record deal!
