About Me

I'm Heather. I'm painfully shy until I get to know you (then I babble like it's my job). I'm short, and not just your average run of the mill short. I'm so short that my other short friends feel tall when I'm around. I guess that means I'm awesome at shortness. I also write far more than any sane person should, but since I love it and it helps with my finances, I make no apologies for it.

I like to do some stuff, and I dislike doing other stuff. Most of the stuff I like to do is quite nerdy, and generally the things I dislike tend to have large crowds involved. I'm starting to be more social, though, and it's good. Except when it isn't. C'est la vie and so on. MyGen Profile Generator

My Interests

I'm a s elf-admitted nerd. I adore travel, history, linguistics, languages, literature, reading, writing, and other various geeky things. I love the rain and thunderstorms, cooking, movies and music (just like everyone else), good conversation, hugs, dry wit, sarcasm, road trips, and a million other things that I'm far too lazy to list.

I'd like to meet:

People. I like pretty much everybody, so chances are you're good.

Music:

My tastes are pretty varied. I can usually find something I dig in any genre out there. I'm sorta favoring indie rock and acoustic stuff right now though.

Movies:

I'm not really a big Hollywood blockbusters person. I guess they're okay every now and then, although I'm more into indie, foreign, and lesser known stuff. I have to admit that I love mindless comedies that shouldn't be funny but totally are. (ie. Zoolander).

Television:

I'm addicted to reruns, mostly of Seinfeld. I still watch it whenever I can. I love documentaries and similar stuff. I like the L Word, even though it sucks horribly anymore. I also love House, Heroes, CSI, most other cop/lawyer type shows, and Men in Trees. I'm not proud of it, either.

Books:

I'm addicted to these, too. I read anything I can get my hands on, save for badly-written romance and really geeky sci-fi. I really don't have much of a life, obviously.I'm currently in the middle of Jung Chang's "Wild Swans," about three generations of women in China under the reign of Mao. It's incredible.

Heroes:

my mama, who passed away before I got to know her. She always will be. I also admire the crap out of idiots who become millionaires and would like to emulate them if at all possible.

Debauchery in Blackpool

So I just got home from the L3 convention in Blackpool, England. I went to a lot of other places in the UK too, but since L3 was my main reason for going, I'll focus on that one here. My friend Becky ...

Dusty Rose and Indigo
