“Suffering cheerfully endured, ceases to be suffering and is transmuted into an ineffable joy.â€About Myself:
My beginnings are humble, and so I consider that to be my best quality. I try to live my life in a fairly balanced manner cherishing my religion/spirituality foremost; my family, friends and career secondly. I believe that sincerity, understanding, caring, hard work, discipline, and honesty are attributes that people now a day’s lack and so I try to maintain and live by these principles. I also consider myself to be a stickler for detail; a so called 'perfectionist' and I work hard to incorporate that trait into everything I do. I am 27, originally from Miami/Hialeah Florida and from Latin decent. My parents are Cuban and Dominican, and being so they instilled in me a strong sense of Latin-America, 'anti-castor' patriotism. They have also made it a priority to not let me forget the hard work and struggle they and other family members have endured in order to rightly raise us in this country. That extraordinary effort in their part has thought me to respect and cherish all people; no matter who they are, or what they do. I believe that we are all family; equally feeling.. loving.. hurting.. all working and struggling to provide for ourselves and our loved ones, proving that we all have more in common then what we like to think. My Job:
I work at the N.C. School for the Deaf as a Foreign Language Specialist and Advocate. My job encompasses everything from interpreting to providing advocacy services for deaf multi-cultural students to providing cultural awareness trainings.
Another passion of mine is Music and as some of you know I am a trombone player and have studied Music Education and Performance for a number of years. I freelance from time to time, and try hard to stay active in the music scene.Personal:
I am happily married/partnered (per say, if same-sex marriage was legal in NC) to a beautiful soul. He is 29, a transplanted country boy from South Georgia (don’t let him tell you otherwise.) We have been together for over 6 years now and life only gets better, I am truly blessed. He is teacher for the Deaf and enjoys what he does.Hobbies:
Things that we enjoy doing are: road trips, traveling, dining out and in, independent and gay theme films, photography, dancing, gardening, going to musical/arts events, any ASL related events, cooking, shopping, and just hanging out around the house having a margarita. Oh yea and being FABULOUS
