At last Seattle Finally gets what they been missing for years, their very own rising R&B star. This R&B singer/ Producer is setting a new standard for music in Washington, all at the age of 22.
June 2, 2006 was his first solo appearance at the Marysville branch YMCA, after struggling to keep his former group “DV3†together in 2005; he decided to try it on his own. Conversation was his hit single drawing over 200 people to see his dazzling performance. Also show casing his talent for the Snohomish County branch NAACP, Shoreline Community College, Marysville High School, The Nubian Jam in Forest Park, Tulalip’s Boys and Girls Club and the Bite of Seattle, One of the biggest events in Seattle.
January 17, 2008 L-Jay appeared in the “North County Outlook†Newspaper written by Beckye Randall editor/writer. She titled his article, “Young musician infuses R&B sound with positive energyâ€.
L-Jay was almost ready for Round two with his new album entitled “Weekend†set to release in the late summer of 2007, until this very young and determined artist decided to push the date back to January of 2009. He wanted to start the year off correctly with a new age of music.
In the mean time he has been becoming very familiar with the stage, performing in numerous venues such as, The Chop Suey and El Corazon. He also opened for Kiki Corona Fashion and Jewels Fashion at Numerous fashion events as a headliner. L-Jay also became a national artist over this past summer of 2008, performing in Baltimore, Maryland at the Baltimore convention center for the 2nd annual Making the right moves conference.
Aside From Performing, L-Jay wrote and produced his new album single handedly also throwing a different feel to his album by working with one of Seattle’s newest producers of “Swaysides Finest Productionsâ€, also Collaborating with other various artists such as Evan Jackson aka “Voiceâ€, and guest appearances from Seattle’s rap/hip-hop veterans.
