As Told By the Man who knows Best:
Not one to conform to expectations, a south bay kid on her way to making good, Ursula Arevalo got started in her creative life early on with the nudge of a few piano lessons that spawned a love of music altogether. A little further down the road, an xmas drum kit sealed the deal as she started to come into her own. A little louder, a little wilder, this latest instrument mirrored who she was. Free spirited, simply amused with the world, and always ready for whatever was next, a young Ursula said goodbye to childhood and sought out what was always present, that groove in the back of her mind, playing softly just like another tune on the soundtrack of her life… Sure massage therapy paid the bills, but did it really move her?
Of course not. Soon after Attending Bryman College and earning certification, she finally answered the call and really started hitting the proverbial books. This time around, it wasn’t high school, and it wasn’t massage, it was sound boards, mixers, mics, and all kinds of fun equipment with shiny lights and uses unbeknownst to her. Yet…
At the world renowned Los Angeles Recording School Ms. Arevalo learned the ins and outs of what it takes to become a recording engineer and never looked back. It was there that she found a mistress to her love of music, foley. Through her education at the LARS, Ursula cultivated that new interest into a full blown inspiration to become one of only a few truly great FEMALE foley walkers on this planet. Since 2006, Ursula has spent her minutes putting together an impressive resume of projects including:
