About Me

My current mood, brought to you by signal indication….
End of CTC, heading into TWC or Track Warrant Control.
Now that we're in TWC, the question is, what sort of warrant do we have? A "box 2", proceed from ____ to ____ on the MAIN track. Or a "box 4", work between ____ and ____ on the MAIN track?
Makes a huge diffrence there, there's NO going back on a box 2...nope, nothing but pressing onward. Nothing to worry about but what lies on the road ahead...
I really like camping, even though I don't get to as much these days. I like being out in the woods (preferably not alone...have a little thing about being alone, at night, in the woods) campin out. We're not talking bout drive your RV in and pluging in either. Nope, I'm more like grab a sleeping bag, tent and a Coleman stove. Been times I didn't even take those "luxuries" either...

I like driving around, pretty much exploring new roads, places, etc. Don't use a map either, just drive and explore. Only need a map in the unlikely event I truely end up lost. Lol, that's not happened yet!

Hmm, well I'd gather you can see I'm into trains, so thats another intrest of mine as well as being my career... So yeah, I am a "foamer" or "railfan", whatever term you prefer. I also work for a railroad, and I'll point out to you critics: I keep my job first, it's dangerous out there and I know where the priorities lie. As far as the career portion goes, I work for the BNSF Railway. Currently I'm what's called a Hostler, sorta like being an engineer, so I get to drive locomoitves! Prior to this I was a Switchman working in the rail yards or being the Conductor on freight trains going all over this beautiful state. Working as a Conductor has a good perk, you get to see the beauty offered to us from a diffrent perspective. If Only I could describe the sunrise's and sunset's I've seen...all I can say is you had to be there.

Personally, some of my favorite things to do is ride the ferry out of Seattle, looking back at the big city. Something about being out there on the bay, the peace it offers while looking back at the hustle bustle of the city. Alki point is good for this too... Another place I find my solitude is Edmonds or Mukilteo in the evening. I have my "spots" I park myself at, turn my railroad radio to "sixes" so I can evesdrop, pop the rear hatch on my Jeep, hop in, sit back and listen to the peaceful rolling waves of Puget Sound. Only to be interuppted by lonesome wail of the horn on a distant train, or shattered by the passing of another freight. Only better place to be now would be riding as brakeman on one of those trains rolling out the miles along the countryside. Cab door propped open with the snow broom, side window's wide open, and myself stretched out on the two chairs watching the world roll by, and nary a care in the world till our next "work". Life starts to look pretty worth while right about then...

I guess you could say I lead a simple life, but that also means I enjoy more of the simpler things in life. I'd guess it's the little things that count to me. Don't need anything fancy for this guy.
I created my own profile using nUCLEArcENTURy.COM and you should too!

My Interests

Being out in the great outdoors is one of em, fourwheeling in my schweet Jeep Cherokee I call Jessica (long story, involves high school, homecoming and someone I never asked). Uhh, I like tinkering with stuff. Sorta a gearhead, I got no problem getting greasy while turning some wrenches. Heck, if anything, seems the dirtier I get the more I'm enjoying myself! What else, oh yeah! My model trains, haha, yeah, like I don't get enough of it at work, right?! This is a little diffrent, I'm slowly build a G scale garden railway in my backyard. It's based on the Rhatische Bahn, a metre gauge railway in the Swiss canton Graubunden. There's more, but I'm tired of typing now...

I'd like to meet:

I dunno who I want to meet, Matt Rose would be nice. I'd ask him WTF the deal is with not paying our claims, who's lying to him about RCO, and whats the deal with wanting to go to 1 man crews.

I pretty much keep to myself, so outside of ol Rosie boy, can't say for sure who I'd like to meet. Ya kinda gotta prod me to get response, like I said, in person I'm kinda quiet

Music:

I listen to alot of diffrent stuff, just not so much with the rap. Country is among my top favorites, and some Punk and Rock follow. Like a little of the Industrial music too, like Rammstein.

Movies:

This has to be the greatest car chase scene of all times, pretty much sets the benchmark for any and all movie car chases: Bullit

My fav's have to be Hunt for Red Ocotber, Emperor of the North (awsome train flick), and of course, ANY of the James Bond Movies. My favorite Bond movie has got to be Goldfinger, or The World Is Not Enough (mainly cause Denise Richards is sooo hot in that one). A few more are Ocean's 11, Ocean's 12, Both of the Italian Job's (Italian Job and Ocean's 11 were remakes of old movies if you didn't know...), Behind Enemy Lines, Spy Games, and several other classics. Emperor of the North, opening of movie. Check it out!.. width="425" height="350" ....

Television:

MacGyver, A-Team, Mission Impossible, King of the Hill, CSI LV, and Dirty Job's are among my favroite shows. Really though, all I ever watch anymore is stuff on Discovery or History channel. Modern Marvels is a schweet show BTW

Books:

Between novels right now, but for the time being, I'll be making some light reading of locomoitve shop manuals and the CFR's for locomotive's. Also in there is reading the books on DPU, the old skool GE/Harris system, Locotrol III and IDP. Really, I'm trying to become a badass hostler who can spot a non-complying defect a mile away or trouble shoot a locomotive consist in his sleep.

Heroes:

My father. He's one crazy Dutchman, but I love him. I only wish I could be more like him, including that badass red handlebar moustach he has :P
