When speakin of a place there's usually a staple artist that goes along
with that place and for the city of Tampa that artist is Tampa Tony. After
being a DJ with Roc It Rod for years he decided to leave the turn tables
behind for a chance to pick up the mic. Thank God he did. Not even
months
after doin so he structred a southern hit called "Jukin" which gave him
over 2000 spins on southern radio stations & had him opening for MANY
industry heavyweights and to this day still manages to get any club going.
After a bad contract dispute Tampa Tony decided to give the music business a
break while he furthered his dream as an inventor. After many failed
attempts he finally came up with a blunt splitting devise for smokers
called the splitter(www.dasplitter.com) which was featured in both high
times (on many occasions) & Ozone Magazine and has sold well over 20,000
units with only internet distribution. After taking a break he was contacted by his long time friend Trick
Daddy to be featured on a song which was titled "Jump on da dick"(or
J.O.D.D.)from Trick Daddys platinum selling album "Thug Motivation"
The song was an instant club smash & was featured on the movies Deep
Blue Sea & The 40 Year Old Virgin and also on the video game Dub City.
Never one to rest he is back with his own label, Splitta Records
(www.splittarecords.com) his own group of fresh talent (Da Splitta
Squad) and more hot music to further the FL movement. His songs "Can't
Juke
w/o Me" & "She Lies" has already started taking over airwaves in Tampa
and
is growing. Some people would call him Lucky after just getting back
into the game and having an album that will be released with production from
hip-hop heavyweight Jim Jonsin(which has crafted hit records for Danity
Kane, Jamie Foxx, Trick Daddy, Twista, Trey Songs, just to name a few) and
features
industry heavyweights such as T-pain & more, but he considers himself
blessed and is humbled by the oppurtunities that have presented
themselves. So keep a watchful eye on this Fl artist because he's
destined to blow in 2007.
