Eddie G. was born in Brooklyn, New York of Puerto Rican descent. Eddie had a childhood dream of becoming a singer someday. Although his parents were divorced, they both strove to raise him with the morals and values taught in their church. It was there that his singing talents began to take shape. As with most church going teenagers, Eddie was attracted to secular musical groups that were forbidden by his parents and church, groups like "El Gran Combo", "Héctor Lavoe", "Frankie Ruiz", and "Run DMC" were among some of his favorites. At the age of fifteen, Eddie G's life got complicated; he began to involve himself with the neighborhood gangs and consequently ended up in prison. For many that’s where the story ends, but God wasn't finished with Eddie. As God tends to do "he works in mysterious ways," he used a jail cell to get Eddie's attention. Prison tends to turn most people bitter and angry, but it was there that God revealed his plan for Eddie. Transformed by the power of God, Eddie decided to take possession of his gift and talent's and use them for God's glory. Eddie G. recorded his very first Salsa single in 2001, titled-"Levantando Al CaÃdo" (Raising the fallen), opening many doors for his ministry. His music has been heard and seen across Central America, South America, Puerto Rico and the United States. In 2002, he crossed over with a pre-released single titled "Take it to the top", a bilingual musical project that enabled him to reach both English and Spanish audiences. In 2003, he began working on his third musical project entitled "You're my friend" which was later released in 2005. In 2008, Eddie G's talent is on the rise. His latest recording blends "something classic with something fresh" delivering to his audience a must-hear Salsa & Regatón project that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Eddie has participated in many different venues like Universities, Evangelistic Crusades, Churches, Rehab Centers and Radio Fundraisers. He has shared the stage with well-known Christian artists such as: José "Papo" Rivera, Giovanni RÃos, David & Abraham, El Sonero Pichardo, Puchi Colon & Cross Movement among many others. Eddie G. is aware that entertainment plays a great part in people's lives and that knowledge coupled with a desire to serve God and follow his purpose for him, opens the door of the knowledge of Jesus Christ to many.
Also in 2008 Eddie G. completed a single with five songs and four sing-along tracks titled, "Navidad Es Amar" (Christmas Is to Love). A Musical project with a tropical flavor that will inspire the listener to rejoys on the Lord on the holidays.
Eddie G. is an ordained minister currently holding credentials under Logos Global Network of Christian Ministries. He is happily married to his lovely wife, assistant, and best friend Gini.Eddie G. en Concierto
