Slasher...

About Me

I got my MySpace Layout at HerMyspaceLayouts.com.I am a generally normal girl. Actually I'm having a quarter life crisis right now. I have renounced working life and am being a bum until I can work out what to do with myself. I am trying to do something constructive by going back to uni. I'm doing a Graduate Diploma in Science Communication (I don't really know what that means, either). I thought it would be a good idea so I can become better at dealing with people. So fingers crossed it all goes well and I don't run away screaming...My other love (aside from procrastinating) is swordfighting. But I don't know if it loves me - I keep hitting people (hence 'Slasher') and breaking weapons (I'm onto sword no.3 in eight months)Weapons I've broken so far: 3 (only 2 were mine...)

My Interests

At the moment I'm just starting to learn about scrapbooking, am trying to write a novel (and i'm going to be practising drawing diagrams/maps for it), and I am taking swordfighting lessons! So my interests are fairly diverse right now. I love all things cute and my fave colour is pink (my sword has a hot pink handle!).

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet lots of people, but chances are I would be too tongue tied to say anything to them if i did!

Music:

I love almost all types of music. Screaming death metal and trance isn't my thing, but i can usually find something in each genre that i am happy to listen to. I think my music collection is pretty eclectic. I really just love music I can sing along to. The last 2 CDs I got were by Good Charlotte and Brooke Fraser. I'm (scarily enough) starting to get into emo music. My new fave CD is Fall Out Boy's 'Infinity On High' (I keep wanting to dance in public when I listen to it on my Walkman). But don't worry, I'm not about to start writing depressing poetry any time soon. ;-)

Movies:

TMNT rocks!! And 300 was brilliant (even though the dialogue was bad at least it was hilarious, and the fight scenes were super duper). The last DVD I bought was Little Miss Sunshine and I tell everyone to watch it. I am addicted to animated movies (I think I like them more than grown-up movies) but also watch comedies and action movies quite happily.

Television:

I love TV but have barely any time to watch it. As a result I have about the last 10 weeks' worth of Heroes, Prison Break, 24, Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy taped and lying all over the house.

Books:

This section will be too long if I write out everything I enjoy reading...But I can't wait for the last Harry Potter (praying Harry doesn't die but my hopes aren't high). Love everything by Juliet Marillier and Fiona McIntosh(fantasy) and Matthew Reilly (action). The last book I read was A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian by Marina Lewycka - I totally recommend it (and it does talk about tractors to some degree).

Heroes:

The Bookshop Brouhaha

Recently Angus and Robertson Bookshops made a rather large error in judgement. They decided that the small publishers they were buying books from were not making them enough money. Their solution?&nbs...
