Dj Getaway began mixing Drum n Bass back in 2002 after firstly mixing garage music during the early part of his Djing career. ''Back in 2002 Garage music and the scene within began to change, and not for the better. It all started to sound the same, with the bulk of material getting released either RnB remixes or cheesy vocals, then from this into what they now call Grime. The scene unfortunatelly had completely transformed from what attracted people to it in the first place, Good vibes, Good music! I knew it was time for a change.... '' ..................... Dj Getaway has always had a love for Drum n Bass from listening to Happy Hardcore as a youngster and also from always having Jungle/Drum n Bass tapes lying around, so in 2002 Dj Getaway decided to concentrate on this and move forward. .......................................... In 2004 he had his first Pirate Radio set as a Drum n Bass Dj on Laylow FM 106.80 (Big up Ice for that one!) Slowly but surely Dj Getaway began to build up a fan base and links within the Drum n Bass scene. In 2005-2006 Dj Getaway was starting to be recognised within the Pirate Radio scene, as one of the top up and comming Drum n Bass Djs and soon after, began doing a weekly set on Freeze FM 92.70. Having now built up a creditable Pirate Radio status Dj Getaway started to receive bookings at various Clubs and Private Parties. Such as: Club Cagneys, Plan B, Stoke University, Destinys and Brixton Jamm to name a few. ............................................................ ............................. Now into 2007, Dj Getaway is moving forward in a big way, with many people within the scene starting to take note of his tight mixing ability and selection. ............................................................ ................. ............................................................ ...................
