About Me

David Mu-Chun Chen, A.K.A Dee Chen started to play piano at the age of 7, then switched to guitar at 16. After graduating from Musicians Institute GIT program in 2003, Chen started to play guitar professionally around the Los Angeles area.
Inspired by guitarists such as Larry Carlton, Bill Frisell, Eric Johnson, Pat Metheny, and Steve Morse, Chen developed eclectic interests in many different styles and soon became a session-minded musician.
As a well-rounded guitarist, Chen's style ranges from funk, jazz, blues, country, to contemporary rock. that lead him to play in numerous recording sessions and club dates in the L.A. area.
To his credits, Chen has performed with Ernie Andrews, Paul Litteral (Rolling Stones), Luke Miller (Larry Carlton), Fabio Soares (Brasil, Brazil.), Danny Thomas (Grammy Nominated producer) As well as the House band of the Henry Milkman Show for Adelphia Cable TV, KAZN AM 1300, and many others.
He is also a concert guitar player who play for many major Asian recording artist. some of his credit includes
Taiwan singer JJ Lin(林俊傑),Vivian Hsu(徐若瑄),Phil Chang(張宇), Wen-yin Liang(梁文音), Terry Lin(林志炫), Sue Ray(蘇芮), Chow Hui(周蕙),Irene Yip(葉璦菱), Kao Sheng-Mei(高勝美),
Chinese Singers Lao Lang(老狼), Pei Yeh(葉蓓), , Shui Mu Nian Hua(水木年華),
Hong Kong Singers Wei-weng Chang(張偉文), Jade Kwan(關心妍), Priscilla Chan(陳慧嫻), Lui Shan(呂珊) just to name a few
In 2006 and 2007, he was invited to be one of the judges for Guitar Center's Guitarmageddon national guitar competition in the Los Angeles Area.
In addition to his career as a session guitar player, Chen is also a songwriter and freelence transcriber.
