"The $terlin Million$ Story "... Hailing from east New York’s finest borough, Brooklyn, and being known in his neighborhood as “Big Manâ€, Sterlin Millions is destined to flip the music business to a whole new level.
Sterlin, like many black males living in the ghetto, had a hard life while reaching adulthood. Sterlin first got started by break dancing and being a Deejay; but in a neighborhood where many people got their money by selling drugs, playing basketball, or rhyming, it was only logical that Sterlin picked up one of the fore mention trades and hone it into a skill. Sterlin started to study known rappers of his era such as Kool G Rap, Rakim and Big Daddy Kane. He watched their style and technique and used it to create a style of his own. Shortly after this, EPMD, a duo rap act, came onto the rap scene and many established and upcoming rappers decided to have a partner to complete their acts. This is when Sterlin teamed up with his cousin Rawstalin, from Queens, New York and formed a rap group called Qauzin Havok.
It was during the time Sterlin and his cousin was in the studio laying down vocals that he met up with an engineer who showed him how music beats were created and engineered. Sterlin learned about music equipment and how the equipment worked. After practicing making beats and receiving positive feedback and much encouragement from peers, this fueled his desire to continue making beats on a regular.
With the different skills Sterlin possesses, entrepreneurship is the obvious next step for Sterlin. Sterlin is currently the owner/CEO of Drtyslvr Records and the CEO OF Trakfather Music.
In Sterlin’s own words, “I’m about to change the game cause I don’t have no other option. My kids have to eat, and this music business is giving people like me opportunities where I don’t have to run the streets and run to the streets for survival. Too many years I have witnessed people lost to the streets and slain in the streets. If there is a way that I can survive without doing this, that’s what I’m going to doâ€.
In spite of all the hard times, Sterlin still manages to maintain a passion for music, and through the use of music, Sterlin incorporates his emotions and situations he’s been through into his lyrics, productions and entrepreneurship
