The Phill C Quintet (lead by Phill C) is an Arizona based quintet that renders a variety of musical styles, jazz being the primary.Phill C's musical journey started in a second grade class at St Francis Middle School Caterham, London where he was first introduced to the glockenspiel and the Xylophone. Several years later he was invited to a keyboard workshop at his church. Shortly after he started playing in church services and with various bands.He continued to study record and experiment with various music styles especially jazz with other musicians. Meeting and learning from Chick Corea in 2001 had a major part to play in his overall disposition towards experimentation and creativity in jazz.Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, McCoy Tyner, Keith Jarrett, Bob James, Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson, Joe Sample, Quincy Jones, and Take Six are major influences.
