With this first Venus Paradise album, Laurent Bauer brings to light a collection of surreal and dreamlike short stories that generate and deliver a sensation of paradise found.
It all started on tour, in a bus, when Laurent loads a CD into the stereo system which, responds instantly and begins to radiate an up until then, unknown melody. Hey, whats this? asks Mark, fists raised in the air, head stuck to the windscreen. Its my demo! Replys Laurent. This is really good! When you record an album, Ill come and do the drums. Promises mark, head sill glued to the sheet of tempered glass. Flairs and Damien also agree to contribute respectively on bass and with the sound engineering. This is how, during a recent Mellow tour, the album project comes to light. Recorded a few months later between Laurents project studio in Angouleme and Juno and Bleeps in Paris, Electric Melody is finally finished at the end of the autumn 2005.
Compiled of 12 radius and delicate pop songs, the album was written by Laurent in the light of weightless daydreams. Formulated with passionate lyrics led by light christaline vocals and arranged with hefty yet delicate rhythmic and percussive sections, Electric Melody retains the charm and simplicity of innocence itself whilst delivering the energy and efficiency of undiluted pop music.
