Camille Betton

About Me

If you listen to Camille Betton singing, you will feel the soft pitter- patter of the rain gently exploding onto a mid-summer’s evening. Her voice soothes and comforts with its cotton-like tones and graceful richness. Writing and singing professionally by the age of 14, Camille attributes her early musical framing to her father, Ronald Betton, who explained the fundamentals of three-part harmony, her late uncle, Lawrence F. Trudo, who manifested such a passion for the excellence of music ministry that it was contagious and thirdly to her sister, Alisa C. Watson, who founded the group, The Melodies of Praise, of which Camille was apart in her early teens. It was her own interest, however, that pushed her to voraciously absorb music and ‘find all three parts’ whenever listening. In her own words, "the experience of listening to such groups as The Winans, The Commissioned, The Clark Sisters and Witness was so thrilling! To hear what they could do with their voices, those tight harmonies they created and the great production, it was so moving."Camille notes other musical influences as Donnie Hathaway, Oleta Adams, India. Arie and Brandy. She has toured abroad in Europe, and performed extensively in the United States at conferences, recordings and worship experiences. She has shared ministry with Tye Tribbett and Greater Anointing, Jason Nelson, Marcus Cole, Marvin Sapp, Lucretia Campbell, and noted central Ohio artists such as, Nia Allen, Tonya Baker, Amante Lacey and Jonathan Dunn and Faith Ministries. In August 2007, Camille published her first multi-track offering entitled THE ARRIVAL: First Destination. Released under her publishing house, SONG IN A STRANGE LAND MUSIC, (ASCAP), this 6-track effort is a delicate foray into the music universe. Writing and/or co-writing and producing the tracks was a welcomed challenge for her as she explored the journey of her destiny and the impact of worshipping God on that journey. Selling 1000+ units in just under 6 months is indicative of the high anticipation and expectancy of her peers and consumers both local and abroad.Camille recently auditioned for the highly rated Gospel Competion show, Sunday Best and now has the esteemed privilege of being one of the Top 20 Finalists for Season 2 of BET’s show out of 6000+ applicants in three cities. Always looking for ways to expand her sphere of influence, Camille looks forward to the doors that will open as a result of this experience. As a member of First Church of God, Camille receives a healthy diet of the word from the mouth of Bishop Timothy J. Clarke in Columbus, OH.Camille asserts that her gift will make room for her to impact the coming nations to come to Christ. She is currently promoting Christ and that gift with her debut ‘soul worship’ project entitled ‘The Arrival: First Destination’.
