About Me

In 1986, when I was a teen, me and a couple of friends at high school started a band called Anarchic Destruction. We had no songs and were just starting to learn together. We played mainly thrash metal. Then I was sent away for a while. Not long after that I met a guitar player named Jay B. who had and old Tascam 4TRK cassette recorder and we began writing original songs. We made an 8 song demo titled AD - Death Cry of a Crow. Soon we parted ways. In 1990 I got my first 4TRK cassette recorder. I started writing songs on it and became hooked. I came up with the band name Smegma in 1991 and have been using it as a name for my music ever since. In 1997 I purchased an 8TRK Tascam cassette recorder and a Boss 660 drum machine. Finally my songs started to sound more full. Now I have a Tascam 8TRK digital recorder and have written and recorded over 80 songs. Some are good and some not so good. Music is an art and I enjoy creating art. It's something I will be doing until either I die or go deaf. Smegma is something i have been doing as an addictive hobby for the past 15 or more years. I play all the intruments on the recordings. I record all my music at home and on the computer. I use a Tascam 8TRK digital recorder, Ibanez guitar, Fender bass, and a Boss 660 drum machine. I mix my songs on the computer with Magix Music Maker 2000. In 2007 I finished my fourth full length CD titled "Axis of Evil". I have also completed "Soundtrack to Murder" in 1999, "Rotting" in 2002, and "Smegmata" in 2003.
