Suvi Oskala is a fiddle player and a singer who at the moment works with bands like The Auvo Quartet , Polka Chicks and Avertere . She was also one of the three dancing fiddlers in a dance show Silmu , which has fascinated audiences all over Finland since its premiere 2004. In spring 2008 Suvi composed music to the first sign language opera in the world based on the Finnish opera libretto of 'King Charles' hunt'.
Suvi composes music for all her various projects, including her solo project which always seem to take her on an experimental journey on the use of her unlimited vocal range together with her 5-string fiddle, Violina , built by Swedish violin builder Per Klinga .
Suvi Oskala has studied at the Folk Music Department of Sibelius Academy since 2002 with fiddle and singing as her two majors. During this time she has had the chance to explore music from all corners of the world, especially from Scandinavia. Her open attitude towards all music making makes her one of the most interesting young fiddle players and singers in Finland at the moment.
