About Me

I feel a bit embarrased putting my stuff on this site like I'm a pro or something. I just love music and want to keep doing it. There's nothing I'd rather want then study music fulltime for at least the next ten years of my life. Unfortunately I also have to make a living somehow. If you must know, I only really got into music at the age of 23 when I found myself unemployed and spending more time with a guitar writing songs then looking for work. I took singing lessons with with a classical singing teacher and guitar lessons but I was too chicken to ever go for auditions. So after a while I went back to college to study journalism. I'd like to be a writer someday.I still play as an amateur and I just started to learn playing the saxophone. Studying music and learning to understand it is a very big dream of mine. I've written a couple of songs, some finished some not and most of them for a special friend of mine who lives in L.A. God bless her soul. She inspired me to do music and be an artist. I hope my songs inspire her too, and maybe you might get something out of it too.Michael

Are Americans more crazy then us Europeans?

I was shocked recently when I saw an American family on TV that lived like pirates. They dressed up like them and we're fanatic in their beliefs about piracy as a way of life. They might as ...

Where’s that hole when you need one?

I just had the most embarrasing thing in my life happen to me. I told a friend of mine that I thought she was attractive and asked her out on a date. She said no and now I R-EALLY wish I hadn't done i...

Starstruck

My feeling of unworthiness takes away my wordiness. Starstruck as I am, just as a question had crept in my mind. Curiosity killed the cat. Mine has just stunned me for now. In that sense looks can kil...

OUCH!!

Do you give birth a lot in your dreams? A friend of mine told me once she used to dream about giving birth thirteen times when she was in an unsure situation. She always remembers her dreams. Ca...

Hit me with your fashionable filofax..

Writing for a woman's magazine is hard, and harder then I thought. I find myself having to emancipate and even then I think I'd raise an eyebrowe or too if I tried to get interviews. Today's interview...

Night at the bimhuis

This is a poem that I've written just now. Learning to play music is hard work for my brain and I get really tired of listening to music sometimes, especially jazz. It makes me want to listen to K3 whe...

One step at a time..

Today practicing my sax went really well. I have been playing improvisations on the same slow blues in F for months now. It's really hard to play good blues and write the music there on the spot....
