About Me

I moved to the UK to do my Masters and now I currently live with my boyfriend in Aberdeen, Scotland! The countryside here is beautiful and we are located right on the North Sea. I am a Minnesotan at heart and I am always looking forward to my next visit home, but I do love living abroad! I have a great job at a nonprofit and I look forward to seeing more of Europe and the world!

My Interests

Peace, exploring new places!, nonviolent social change, philosophy, travelling, people in general, my nephew, conflict resolution, Buddhism, Human Rights, music, swimming in lakes, new food, running, hiking, my dogs, animals in general, making soup, vegetarian food that is healthy!, socks, fruit, new people, places, and things, volunteering, and smiling at strangers : ) I do also enjoy the ocassional shopping trip! Ha ha...

Books:

"America and the Age of Genocide: A Problem From Hell" by Susan Powers is an awesome book. I have also enjoyed "Cry the Beloved Country", by Alan Paton, Nelson Mandela's "A Long Walk To Freedom", "Being Peace" by Thich Nhat Hanh, "An Open Heart" by the Dalai Lama, and any Philosophy, Political Science, Current Events, and Eastern Religion. I have a love for fiction as well.

Heroes:

Mark Hanis, the 24 year old founder of the "Genocide Intervention Network". Also, the three guys that went to Uganda and ended up creating the "Invisible Children" movement.
