About Me
It's Not Hard To See
CHECK OUT THE HIGH RESOLUTION VERSION OF ''NOT HARD TO SEE" VIDEO AT http://vimeo.com/1597581 .....I began playing music back in 1992, always loving to sing as a child, mostly whatever song was a hit on MTV at the time, or old classics like the Stones and the Beatles. After seeing Carlos Santana perform at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley in the summer of 92', I was convinced guitar was the instrument for me! After 3-4 years of jammin with friends in High School, mainly playing reggae covers and writing some decent songs of our own, I began to develop my own musical voice and the ability to write songs that had some meaning and melody to them, with a folk feel... Berkeley is the home of many creative, talented musicians who played a huge part in my journey as a musician and songwriter, and I was lucky that almost all of my closest friends from High School on were talented musicians, mc's, and/or producers. I was closely connected with a tight knit group of musicians and mcs known as the Emphatics, and Berkshire farms productions, and through the years of 96-2004, co-produced countless tunes and rocked many shows, and while mainly providing guitar rythyms and riffs for Emphatics, all the while I continued to write my own material, with my driving force to create songs that carried a good melody and some sort of message, and conveyed it in a meaningful, heartfelt, authentic way.
Over the years I have written over 100 completed original songs and have recorded 30-40 of those pretty decently, but I always am striving to record and write even higher quality songs that will hopefully be around 50 years from now and still be great songs. My dream for my music is to create the highest quality songs I can, perform and tour with a full backing band, and get my music out to as many people as possible, with the hope of brightening their life with the songs I have put so much focused creative energy into. My music is my art, and I offer it to the world as a gift. Making a living with my music would be nice, but I'm really not doing it for the money. I just want to write great songs that move people, carry meaning, and possibly make this world a better place... I have also worked with elementary school kids as a teacher and coach for over 10 years, currently teach Elementary P.E. in Albany, Ca, and am a co-director of El Cerrito Sports Camp, a year-round recreational sports program for kids ages 4-12.
