..I have been singing for most of my life and it is my number one passion. Music is what completes me and makes me feel like a whole person. I guess that music runs in my blood being that most of my relatives either sing or play instruments including my distant relatives, the Whitley's. I was fortunate because early on in life a choir director at my school noticed my talent, and on the day he retired pulled me aside and told me "to never quit singing, and that he had never heard a voice like mine before with such a pure tone." I never forgot him or what he said to me that day.
I am trained in both classical and pop singing techniques, although I would say it is more like I was trained classical and then had to untrain to sing pop! I have a unique sound and a great image with a style all my own. I have a confident attitude, stage presence and love to sing. I have a great drive and determination when it comes to music, and I am serious about it. I work on things until I get it right. I am willing to perform locally, nationally, and internationally.... I have written and co-written a few songs, which can be found on my myspace page. I have had the opportunity to sing at many places such as 14 Below, Anastasia's Asylum, Canter's Kibitz, Que Sera Sera, Kulak's Woodshed, Un-urban, Java Junction, 12th & Porter, and on the show Question Reality. I really feel, however, that attending auditions as an actress in Los Angeles, Nashville, and Minneapolis are what really gave me the confidence to be able to perform music on stage.
I have always wanted to learn to play the guitar, but have never quite grasped it. As a result, I have to rely on someone else to supply the music while I sing. One time when I was performing out, my guitar player stopped playing in the middle of a song! I was mortified. I kept on singing acappella, which was completely nerve wracking. Fortunately, after a few bars he started playing again and we were able to finish out the show. I still have a fear to this day that I'll be up there singing away and the music will just stop!So, about the movies below...the first one is the actual trailer for the series Ghostbustin' 911, and the second one is my demo reel.
