The Band
Well the band was formed back 4 years ago by a couple of old high school friends (mostly from Elizabeth High School). Julio decided to form a band together. I mean, whats to lose? Besides time, money and your dignity. It was a crazy dream with high hopes and crazy intentions. Julio formed (and failed) several bands before Dizzy Spells. After changing members, bands and names, the same results kept coming up. Not till the start of 2006

While partying and having laughs together with new friends and some other people. Julio & Michael started having discussions about punk and ska music. Julio met Michael before on different occasions but this was the first time they got to share minds. Michael was one of Gerardos good good friends from high school. Slowly and slowly, the thought about re-starting Dizzy Spells became more of a reality. As they were planning to jam one night, Michael brought over his good friend Brian. Brian had prior experience with drumming and he was quite amazing. Everybody blended in together right away. The line up was: Brian on the drums, Michael on the bass, Gerardo on the guitar & Julio stuck to writing and singing lyrics.
In Late May of 2006
Unfortunately, Michael had to take his departure from the band. The rest of the guys weren't ready to put Dizzy Spells on a standstill. So Julio picked up the bass and started learning most of the songs. We would still like to experiment with anybody who can play either the Bass, Guitar, Drums or sing Vocals. Julio, Brian & Gerardo are willing to switch around instruments in order to make the band a fast moving success. So if you actually took the time to read this, and if you're interested! Music & Influences
At first, we were playing just for fun and we started playing controversial songs like Tom is Gay & NJ is for Lovers (Suck My Dick). We weren't really going to put those songs out there and have them represent Dizzy Spells. So after a while of messing around with beats and ideas, Dizzy Spells got their act together and first started out by covering their favorite songs. In due time, we built up confidence to make our own music. Next thing you know, we have more than enough of our own songs to make an EP. Right now, the sound isn't really great. Everything was done by Acid Pro. Except for the live mp3 songs, those were recorded with a video camera. Besides our music, Dizzy Spells has a lot of influences. Mostly coming straight out of metal bands like: Metallica & In Flames. Heavy chords with a fast pace, thats the determination that drives us insane. Bands like: Less Than Jake & Frenzal Rhomb. Motivated into throwing thrilling shows with no stopping to the action. But to put it plain and simple, its better when the crowd is more into it than the band is. Thats what influences us.
Future plans
We're going to be adding a horn section very soon. That'll open up a wide range of creativity for future songs. Tons of shows is a must, but more practice is a definite before anything. Every bands dream is to get signed one day and tour for a living. We would personally like to live in a tour bus and visit other places besides just NJ. Battle of the bands from left to right. Maybe one day well land on the Vans Warped Tour and do all 63 shows instead of just playing on the Earnie Ball stage in NJ. Perhaps marry the beautiful girls from Go Betty Go or the beautiful girls from Fenwick one day. Who knows? But most likely well end up selling burgers at Burger World.
