Barleycorn's (579 W. Douglas) has been sold and the last music event there was Jan 24th, 2009.To keep the great tradition of local music alive, the Blue Lounge down the street (608 E. Douglas, Barleycorn's original home) is now booking local bands! This building has a long and successful history of live music with it not only hosting the old Barleycorn's but also Panama Reds.
Although we do not plan on doing live music as extensively at the Blue Lounge as we have done at Barleycorn's, we do plan on booking occasional local acts and some proven road bands. We have a house P.A. at the Blue Lounge, as well as the same stage that bands have always played on, complete with some stage lights.
This community has been wonderful to Barleycorn's and we appreciate the musicians, employees, and, of course, the patrons that helped make it a popular music venue. We are hoping this support will continue with the shows at the Blue Lounge.
We will maintain this site to keep you informed of the events that will be now occuring at the Blue Lounge so the display name has changed from Barleycorn's to Blue Lounge Events.
